West Ham midfielder Declan Rice is “unlikely” to sign a contract extension with the club after they refused his request to include a release clause, according to 90min.com.

The Hammers don’t include buyout fees in their contracts as a rule, and it means that the England international won’t put pen to paper on a new deal.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are all monitoring Rice’s situation but there is currently no favourite for the 22-year-old’s signature.

90min.com claim that there is just as much chance that the midfielder will stay at West Ham next summer as there is him leaving the London Stadium.

Rice is reportedly keen to concentrate on his football until the end of the season in May, and it must be pointed out that the Irons are in a strong position. The player is signed up until 2024, and the club have an option to extend his stay for a further year.
