West Ham are keen on signing Gremio winger Everton Soares, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira. He claims that the Hammers will hold talks with the Brazilian international’s agent:

Supporters on Twitter believe the 23-year-old would improve the squad, but many are unsure why the club would be pursuing another winger when they have more pressing needs in other areas of the pitch:
Please yes

Good player, not sure another winger is needed now. CM and RB/LB should be biggest needs

Is Pellegrini looking at any CM’s or fullbacks?

Everton starred at last summer’s Copa America, but despite being heavily linked with a move to Europe, with clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City all reportedly interested, he remained in Brazil.
This campaign, the wide man has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 40 appearances for his club. Despite his good form, he has fallen down the pecking order with the Brazilian national team, having not been selected in the squad for the friendlies against Argentina and South Korea last month.
It was claimed in the summer that Gremio were demanding €40m for Everton. Whether that has gone down in the meantime, it remains to be seen.
