Noble Makes Frank Admission About West Ham’s Battle Against Relegation

West Ham captain Mark Noble thinks the Hammers’ battle against relegation is likely to continue into the closing weeks of the season.

The London club have a very challenging fixture schedule coming up and Noble believes that the victory versus Southampton needs to be the start of a succession of good performances in order to get the team out of trouble:

“I’m hoping now, after the result, that we can start moving in the right direction. We’ve still got a lot of tough games coming up and it’s still going to be a relegation battle until the end, but I do hope that we’ve got enough in the changing room. I believe in the players we’ve got in there. I think you can see that, and hopefully, we can get ourselves out of it.”

The Irons are not in FA Cup action so they do have a whole week to prepare for their game against Arsenal this weekend, unlike the Gunners who faced Portsmouth last night.

After the London derby, West Ham then have Wolves at home and Tottenham away before the international break. They will then go up against Chelsea before heading into two crucial encounters against Newcastle and Burnley next month.

With the Hammers only outside of the relegation zone on goal difference at the moment, the next couple of months will likely determine if they will stay up this season.
