Moyes open to Wilshere transfer

Moyes open to Wilshere transfer

Jack Wilshere on his day is a very good player. Unfortunately he has been marred with one injury to the other for the past two years and there is now a real chance he could be leaving Arsenal. His deal reportedly expires in the summer and Arsenal are yet to offer him a new contract.

This could be interpreted to be that Wenger no longer see him as a player he wants to keep at the Emirates. So far this season, he has been used mainly as a substitute as Wenger prefers the pivot of Granit Xhaka and the in-form Aaron Ramsey. And if the reports claiming Arsenal could be signing Leon Goretzka on a free transfer in the summer are true, Wilshere’s already limited chance of playing regularly for Arsenal can only become even more limited.

This is why a move away from Arsenal may just be the best thing for his career. And it appears he could be on his way to West Ham if Wenger sanctions the move.

This is as David Moyes has admitted he is open to the idea of signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. The hammers are in fact the favorites of bookies such as 888sport.com to finally sign Wilshere.

The 25-year-old is not currently a regular at the Emirates, but is still widely regarded as one of England’s finest midfielders on his day.

With the World Cup soon coming round, Wilshere will hope he can earn a place in Gareth Southgate’s side in time by playing regular football – something he is not getting at Arsenal.

However, a potential move to the Hammers would make perfect sense to the midfielder with him being able to remain in London whilst playing regular football.

And Moyes admits he would be open to the idea of signing the versatile midfielder.

“You’d hope that if you took a player from another Premier League club it’d be much easier for him to go right into the team and play well,” the Scot told reporters.

“Jack Wilshere would be someone who we’d have to look at if he was available.

“I do believe the transfer window could be the difference between relegation and staying up. If we can get the right players, that’s the big part of it.

“I also want to make sure we’re looking at players who’ve got time and who can be at the club for a long period and not just in for a short period.

“Then there’s also the short-term fix for me which is, how do we get enough wins between now and the end of the season? There’s a balance between that.”
