West Ham striker Michail Antonio has named ex-Chelsea forward Eden Hazard as the “best player” he has played against.
The Belgian international spent seven years in the Premier League, and Antonio says he has never come across another player like him in his career:
“The best player I’ve played against? I would have to say [Eden] Hazard. Magical, he could create a goal out of anything, beat two or three or four people and put it in the top corner – amazing.”
There is no doubting that Hazard was a special talent, although you have to say that his powers have waned massively since he left England for Real Madrid in 2019.
Injuries have taken their toll on the 31-year-old, who has been nothing more than a bit-part player for the European champions over the last few seasons.
Antonio did also say who the best player he had played alongside was, and Hammers fans won’t be surprised to learn that he went with Dimitri Payet. The Frenchman may have only spent eighteen months at the London club but his dribbling and finishing ability have gone down in club folklore.
