West Ham Join PL Rivals In Scouting Mission To See THREE Ukrainian Stars In Action

West Ham were one of a number of Premier League clubs who had scouts watching Ukraine’s game against Scotland on Wednesday evening, according to reports in England.

It is believed that the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea were there to specifically monitor Mykhaylo Mudryk, but the rest, including the Hammers, are likely to have been keeping an eye on Shakhtar Donetsk centre-back Mykola Matvienko and Dynamo Kyiv winger Viktor Tsygankov as well.

While Mudryk has been in the news a lot recently, having been named the “Ukrainian Neymar” by some in the media due to his speed and trickery, Matvienko and Tsygankov are not as well known.

Matvienko is a left-footed centre-half but he is also a very decent left-back, making him perfect for teams who play three at the back. Despite still only being 26 years of age, he has already been capped 52 times by Ukraine.

Tsygankov has spent his entire career with Dynamo Kyiv but, with a record of 87 goals and 60 assists in 220 appearances, the 24-year-old does seem like a player who would be capable of playing in a bigger league.
