West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer impressed playing at right-back for Germany against England on Monday evening.
Since arriving at the London Stadium from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, manager David Moyes has used the defender primarily as a centre-back.
However, the vast majority of supporters on Twitter feel that Kehrer could be better utltised on the right-hand side of defence:
Would be a massive upgrade over coufal. Immediately makes the club better. Might be helpful for Bowen having a more athletic, better passer, etc. Partner on the right

He's better at RB than Coufal. π―

If kehrer plays RB that back 4 with him, aguerd, zouma/Dawson and Emerson on the left is deadly. Play Rice as a holding CDM, paqueta and downes in front with the front three of scammacca, cornet and Benny π₯π₯π₯π₯

Been saying this for ages. When all fit – Areola, Emerson, Aguerd, Zouma, Kehrer, Downes, Rice, Paqueta, Antonio, Scamacca, Benrahma.

Been saying that for weeks and just got shot down

Use Kehrer as a RB, with Cornet in front of him. 4 at the back, but 5 when defending.

With the way coufal is playing just said exactly the same

As some fans have mentioned, Vladimir Coufal has been struggling for a while, so it may be time to take the Czech international out of the firing line.
The Hammers do have the options at centre-half so that Kehrer can play as a fullback. Kurt Zouma, Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna are all fit and available which means Kehrer’s positional change wouldn’t necessarily weaken the backline.
The alternative would be to play Kehrer in a back three. The system has worked in certain fixtures, with wins against Viborg, Aston Villa and Silkeborg, so perhaps Moyes would consider using it on a regular basis. We shall see if the Irons boss chooses either option.
