West Ham is the likeliest destination for Porto striker Moussa Marega, according to reports in Portugal.
The Malian international is apparently very keen to join a Premier League club this summer.
Supporters on Twitter had a mixed reaction to the prospect of the Hammers signing Marega:
Malian Marcus bent

Opinion. No thank you. Technically weak, understand he’s had two good years but he’s 29 and we could use that money for someone cheaper who can trap a ball.

Wouldn't be my first choice if Gomez doesn't work out, but he's a good option. His goal record in Portugal is very impressive so could be worth the gamble.

I’d prefer a young gun to develop along with our team.

Yeah too much for a 28 year old with no sell on value

Not overly keen. Would rather get Mateta for similar price

I’ll be honest I’m not a fan. Never majorly impressed me. And to my knowledge the interest in him is not coming from Pellegrini. It’s more a previous thing from the owners. £15-20m maybe anything more a big fat NO.

I like him think he’s a perfect fit for the premier league

Big quick and scores goals, get him in

Would be good signing but he’s not got much quality if that makes sense, would rather have Gomez, Haller or Belotti over him. But I would be happy with him.

Marega could be sold for €35m (£31m) by Porto, with the likes of Wolves and Aston Villa also having been linked with the player.
Last season, he scored 21 goals in all competitions, as well as providing 11 assists in 47 games.
He would be a cheaper alternative to Celta Vigo’s Maxi Gomez but at 28 years of age, there would certainly not be much sell-on value if the forward were to be signed.
If West Ham are looking to sign a traditional target man for a similar age, it’s more likely that they would target Salomon Rondon, who they have already reportedly made a bid for last month.
