‘It’s Perfect For West Ham’ Joe Cole Excited As Moyes Looks To Emulate Bundesliga High Flyers

Former West Ham and Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole believes Hammers boss David Moyes will look to copy RB Leipzig’s blueprint for success.

Leipzig, along with all of Red Bull’s clubs, sign young players and play an attacking brand of football, which the Scot studied during his break away from the game.

Cole says he has seen Moyes mention Leipzig on a number of occasions at his press conferences, and he thinks he will look to emulate them if he gets time in the job at the London Stadium:

“I think with David, the interesting thing if you listen to his press conferences and talk to him, is when he mentions the time he spent at RB Leipzig in between jobs and he talks about the young players they’ve got there and the system they’ve put in place.”

“Because if you do your due diligence on that model of play, it is perfect for West Ham. High speed, youth, exciting players, buying them at a young age. Getting them in, building a club – and now RB Leipzig are playing Champions League football.”

It is believed that Moyes will remain in charge of the Irons even if the club are relegated this season, so it seems the former Everton and Manchester United manager will be backed by the board.

Of course, signing young players does have its risks, but it would also be a brave decision, which could have great long term benefits for the club.
