FIVE Bargain Buys That Premier League Teams Could Snap Up This Summer

There are some famous names who are reportedly out of contract this summer, such as the likes of Lionel Messi, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Memphis Depay.

Many of these players will be demanding huge salaries and will be out of reach for the majority of Premier League clubs who are keen on bringing in players on free transfers.

There are, however, some genuine bargains still on the market who could be snapped up in the coming weeks and months.

Press the next page as we list five players that teams should consider signing for free.

Marko Dmitrovic (Eibar)

Although the 29-year-old was relegated from the Spanish top-flight earlier this month, he is a Serbian international and has built a reputation as a solid shot-stopper in Spain.

Dmitrovic was part of an Eibar side that exceeded expectations by finishing in midtable for three successive seasons between 2018 and 2020, although he wasn’t able to help save them from the drop this campaign.

Aissa Mandi (Real Betis)

The Algerian international has been a decent performer for Betis over the past five years, and he has been linked with Liverpool and Barcelona in recent months.

Mandi is also only 29 years of age and could certainly do a job for a midtable Premier League team if he is given sufficient wages.

Hakan Calhanoglu (AC Milan)

The Turkish international has been the Rossoneri’s key playmaker as they finished in second place behind rivals Inter this season.

Calhanoglu is still said to be in negotiations over staying at the San Siro but he could leave on a free transfer in July, with the likes of Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United having been mentioned as potential destinations.

Ryan Bertrand (Southampton)

The 31-year-old has been a dependable left-back for the Saints over the years but he has decided to move on when his contract expires this summer.

Arsenal and, somewhat surprisingly, Manchester City have reportedly already contacted Bertrand about a potential switch on a free.

Rafael Santos Borre (River Plate)

A slightly left-field choice but the Colombian is a name that has been doing the rounds in recent months, with the likes of Manchester United, Watford and Brighton all said to have looked at the player.

Since moving back to South America after a spell with Atletico Madrid in 2017, Santos Borre has scored 56 goals in 149 appearances for River Plate and it appears he now wants another crack at making it in Europe.
