ExWHUEmployee Ranks West Ham’s Chances Of Appointing Former Chelsea Manager

West Ham are unlikely to pursue ex-Chelsea boss Graham Potter if they dispense with the services of David Moyes, according to insider ExWHUEmployee.

Potter is currently second favourite at the bookies, behind Rafa Benitez, to succeed Moyes, but Ex claims that the Hammers’ hierarchy are less than convinced by the 47-year-old’s pedigree:

“The feedback was not so good on Potter with the top source within the club stating the general feeling is he was massively helped with his recruitment at Brighton by his backroom staff and that his time at there may have given people an inaccurate perception of the manager. It was also stated however that there is no evidence that they would do better than David Moyes-and for now they continue to back the manager.”

After the 5-1 defeat to Newcastle on Wednesday evening, you’d have to think that anyone is better than Moyes at this stage, but it appears the club have other ideas.

In addition to Potter and Benitez, there are plenty of other alternatives that West Ham could consider as replacements. Brendan Rodgers, for example, has recently parted company with Leicester City. The likes of Marcelo Bielsa and Mauricio Pochettino are also out of work.

If they want to focus on younger managers, they could target Middlesbrough boss Michael Carrick or even Stade de Reims head coach Will Still. The list of potential options is pretty lengthy so the real question is whether the Irons are willing to wield the axe on Moyes.
