West Ham are favourites to sign Everton defender Michael Keane during the January transfer window, according to reports in England.
The 29-year-old was linked with a switch to the London Stadium in the summer and it appears the Hammers could revive their move for the player this month.
Keane looks likely to be Craig Dawson’s replacement, who is keen to move back up north for personal reasons, but fans on Twitter are not enthusiastic about the potential signing:
Dawson is off then

Keane is good on his day but can be really terrible.

No thanks. Not better than any of our main CB’s imo.

The biggest concern about Keane is that he can’t even get into an Everton team that is struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table this season.
His only starts have come in the Carabao Cup, with just one brief appearance in the league versus Brentford all the way back in August. He may well be available on the cheap but he won’t be an improvement on the club’s current options at the back.
