West Ham have made Hoffenheim defender David Raum their number one target to strengthen at left-back, according to reports in England.
It is believed the Hammers have already enquired about the German international’s availability and, despite being told that he could cost £33m, they are still keen on signing the player.
Supporters on Twitter are very much backing the club’s attempts to sign Raum, with many hoping that a deal can be done for less than Hoffenheim’s current asking price:
Best signing of our window if it comes off. 🤞

Honestly a great left back would just be nearly as good as a signing a striker for me

It would be a big coup if West Ham do manage to secure Raum’s signature, especially as he has been linked with moves to some high-profile teams, including Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City.
While it is somewhat surprising that the Irons have not been put off by Raum’s valuation, it does show you that David Moyes’ side are looking to spend some significant sums to improve the squad this summer.
