West Ham have made a move for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to reports in the English media.
The Hammers are said to have opened talks about a £20m deal for the 22-year-old as the club look to strengthen their squad:
Fans on Twitter are mostly enthusiastic about pursuing Ceballos but don’t think it will happen:
It will be amazing but unlikely IMO

is a deep lying midfield playmaker like a Modric type. has to compete with Modric Ballon d’or & Kroos tough ask to dislodge them. He is great on the ball good feet awareness & good passing too. Could adapt to the EPL I think also wasn’t ever really given a fair chance at Madrid.

You know how big a deal this is? This kids talent, he’ll definitely be able to fill Noble’s boots in playing with Wilshere and Rice if he can replicate his time with Betis.

Ceballos has fallen out of favour at Real since the return of Zinedine Zidane as manager. The Spanish international had played pretty regularly under Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari but he has featured just three times since the Frenchman was reappointed.
However, the midfielder is a favourite of Spain manager Luis Enrique. Ceballos was handed his senior debut for the national team back in September and has collected six caps so far.
The Spaniard scored his first goal for his country in the 3-2 defeat to Croatia in the UEFA Nations League game back in November. He also started the first match of the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Norway in March.
