West Ham are interested in Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to reports in the English media.

The Hammers originally enquired about the player in the January transfer window but did not follow up with a bid for the 22-year-old.

Ceballos has made 33 appearances in all competitions this season, but the re-appointment of Zinedine Zidane as manager in March has reduced his game time significantly.

His last game was the 3-2 win over Huesca at the back end of last month when he scored Real’s second goal. However, he was then benched for three consecutive games and has not even been in the squad for their last two matches.

With Madrid preparing for a massive squad overhaul in the summer, Ceballos is likely to be available. It is believed that Real would prefer a loan move but could be open to a sale. A fee of £18m may be enough to secure the Spaniard’s services.
