The Italian international didn’t actually cost that much but it was almost immediately apparent that the decision to sign him was a mistake.

Chiesa hadn’t been given a preseason by Juventus after being frozen out, so it took months for the winger to get fit.

Once he had recovered full match sharpness, it was clear that head coach Arne Slot was not that keen on him anyway.



The Dutchman used Chiesa sparingly, having given him just four starts in all competitions. He is expected to return to Italy this summer.
