West Ham Want To Sign Another Wolves Centre-Back As They Make ‘Contact’ Along With 3 Other PL Clubs

West Ham will be in the mix to sign Wolves centre-back Santiago Bueno if the Hammers retain their top-flight status, according to reports.

The 27-year-old is said to be keen on staying in the Premier League next season rather than remaining with Wolves in the Championship.

Sport Witness claim that West Ham, Crystal Palace, Leeds and Brentford have registered their interest in Bueno.

They have all reportedly “made contact” with the defender’s entourage ahead of the summer transfer window.

West Ham fans will worry that he is another Kilman

The last time that the Irons signed a centre-half from Molineux, it didn’t go well. £40m was splashed out on Max Kilman in the summer of 2024, and the deal has ultimately proved disastrous.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has not given the 28-year-old a single minute in the Premier League since the 3-2 defeat to Chelsea all the way back in late January.

Kilman has made two appearances in all competitions following that match at Stamford Bridge. He last played in the FA Cup quarter-final tie against Leeds earlier this month, staying on for the full 120 minutes as Nuno’s men were knocked out on penalties.

Every indication suggests that the defender will be offloaded at the end of the season, and they are likely to get back only a fraction of what they paid for him.

Bueno won’t be an expensive purchase

Sport Witness report that they are not aware of Wolves’ asking price for the Uruguayan international, but it is unlikely to be excessive.

Following their relegation, the Midlands club need to raise funds in order to balance the books, and Bueno’s departure would help in that regard. One thing is for certain, he won’t cost anything close to £40m!
