West Ham could revive their interest in Union Saint-Gilloise striker Promise David at the end of the season, according to reports.

The Hammers initially held talks about recruiting the 6ft 5in target man during the January transfer window. However, he was not keen on a move to the London Stadium due to the club’s precarious position in the Premier League table.

Despite that setback, TEAMtalk claim that David remains a target for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, and if they manage to secure their top-flight status, another approach for the Canadian cannot be ruled out.

The recruitment department believe the forward has yet to reach his full potential, and he could become a huge asset for the Irons.

David’s numbers this season

The 24-year-old has had a decent campaign, having found the back of the net 15 times in 36 appearances. He looks on course to hit 20 goals for the second consecutive year, having scored 24 in all competitions last season.

David is also expected to be at the World Cup, and his performances in the tournament (which is being hosted in North America) will surely be monitored by West Ham. If you want to wear the club’s latest kit, visit Castore’s store.

4 other Premier League clubs are tracking the West Ham target

TEAMtalk report that Sunderland and Leeds have been sending scouts to watch David in action in recent months, while Newcastle are believed to be keen admirers as well.

Brighton are also in the mix, and they could potentially pose the greatest threat, mainly because they have a close connection to Union SG, with owner Tony Bloom having stakes in both teams.

In any case, the pursuit of David will be dependent on the Hammers staying up. They are currently three points off Nottingham Forest in 17th place, with 12 games to go.
