“A Nightmare!” – Neil Warnock Claims West Ham Star Doesn’t Want To Be At The Club

Former Premier League manager Neil Warnock has raised questions about Lucas Paqueta’s commitment to West Ham.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Warnock claimed he saw signs during the 3-0 home defeat against Brentford that the Brazilian is looking to leave the Hammers:

“You talk about Paqueta, If ever a player didn’t want to be there… Watching that game, I said, ‘I wouldn’t have him’. No wonder they are struggling this year. I bet he’s a nightmare in the dressing room!”

There have been subsequent reports that Paqueta is seeking a move away from the London Stadium, but those claims have been contradicted by others.

The West Ham star has addressed the rumours

Following more speculation about his future, Paqueta took to social media and posted a picture of himself and his two sons wearing West Ham shirts at the London Stadium.

The photo was captioned by a smiling emoji, which suggests he is happy to stay with the Irons. His performances this season have not exactly been consistent with that stance, though.

Paqueta scored in three consecutive games against Chelsea, Wolves (in the Carabao Cup) and Nottingham Forest, but he has struggled since then with zero goals or assists in his last six appearances.

Will the club cash in on Paqueta?

It was reported back in the summer that West Ham would have offloaded the 28-year-old if a team had met their £60m asking price.

Both Tottenham and Aston Villa were heavily linked with signing Paqueta, and the latter are said to have reached the final stage of negotiations.

However, a deal did not materialise, and the Brazilian international has since reassured fans that he never had any intention of moving. We shall see if that position changes during the January transfer window.
