West Ham will need to pay £30m if they want to secure the services of Liverpool defender Joe Gomez, according to reports.
The Guardian claim that the Hammers are one of seven Premier League clubs who are vying for the England international’s services.
Gomez has a chequered injury record and, combined with the fact that he is now 28 years of age, Hammers supporters on X agree that his asking price is way too high:

Who else is interested in signing Gomez?
It is believed that Newcastle, Aston Villa, Everton, Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley are also weighing up whether to make a move for the centre-back.
Gomez is said to be open to leaving Anfield, and Liverpool are not expected to stand in his way if they receive an offer which matches their valuation.
West Ham have identified several targets to reinforce the backline
Head coach Graham Potter is keen on adding a centre-half to his squad. The Irons were hopeful of snapping up Burnley’s CJ Egan-Riley on a free transfer before he opted to join Marseille instead.
The likes of Strasbourg’s Ismael Doukoure and Monaco’s Soungoutou Magassa have been considered as options too.
Reports in South America have also linked the London club with a move for Independiente centre-back Kevin Lomonaco. The 23-year-old has a $20m (£14.9m) release clause in his contract.
