‘Class Pickup If We Get Him’ ‘Palace Won’t Sell’ Fans React As West Ham Join PL Rivals In Pursuing 13 Goal Forward

West Ham are one of several clubs keeping tabs on Crystal Palace striker Jean-Phillipe Mateta, according to reports.

The Frenchman has been in great form in recent weeks, having now scored 13 times in all competitions, and TBRFootball claim that he is on the Hammers’ radar.

Supporters on X believe that Mateta would be a good addition to Graham Potter’s squad, although many doubt whether he is a realistic target:

Mateta is a player in demand

TBRFootball claim that there are at least six other Premier League teams interested in the forward, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle, Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

It is believed that Mateta also has suitors abroad in Spain, France and Germany, who could make offers at the end of the season.

West Ham may wait to see how Ferguson performs

Any approach for Mateta is likely to be determined by the performances of Evan Ferguson. The Irishman was snapped up on loan from Brighton at the start of this month.

Although the Irons don’t have an option to buy the player, they will be keen to secure his services on a permanent basis in the summer if he finds the back of the net on a regular basis. He is expected to be in the matchday squad when Potter’s side take on Brentford this weekend.
