West Ham have no intention of offloading captain Jarrod Bowen this summer, according to reports.
There is speculation that offers in excess of £50m could be tabled by Liverpool and Tottenham for the 28-year-old over the coming weeks.
However, an insider has told Hammers News that Bowen is not a player that the club will consider selling during the next transfer window:
“It’s true we have to sell to buy due to PSR, like many other clubs [but] let me make this perfectly clear. Jarrod is on a long contract and he is not for sale.”
Bids from Liverpool and Spurs don’t make sense
While Bowen has been the subject of interest from the newly-crowned Premier League champions in the past, he was only considered as a potential replacement for Mo Salah.
With the Egyptian having just signed a new contract keeping him at Anfield until 2027, it seems incredibly unlikely that the Reds would decide to spend a sizeable amount on Bowen.
In terms of Tottenham, Ange Postecoglou’s side are only a point above West Ham in the table so there would be no reason for the player to make the switch across London.
West Ham will allow other first-team players to leave
While Bowen is set to remain with the Irons, other members of the senior squad are not so safe. Money needs to be raised to fund new signings.
It is believed that most players have been made available for transfer, including the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta, who could fetch significant sums.
Kudus is set to be the subject of offers from Saudi Arabia while there are suggestions that Manchester City could revive their interest in Paqueta if the Brazilian is cleared of any wrongdoing in his spot-fixing case.
