‘Should Be All Over This’ ‘How Are We Funding His Wages?’ Fans React As West Ham Target Departing Chelsea Star

West Ham are weighing up a move for Jadon Sancho now that Chelsea have decided to send him back to Manchester United, according to reports.

The 25-year-old will return to Old Trafford rather than complete a permanent switch to Stamford Bridge, with the Blues having failed to reach an agreement on personal terms. TalkSPORT claim that the Hammers could now swoop in for the winger.

Some fans on X believe Sancho would be a good addition to the squad, while others doubt that the club can match his wage demands:

A swap deal involving a West Ham forward could be explored

TalkSPORT suggest that Graham Potter’s side could be “tempted” into swapping Mohammed Kudus for Sancho but that would require Man United also stumping up cash for the Ghanaian.

The Red Devils would only have received £25m from Chelsea for Sancho and Kudus is worth a lot more than that. A part exchange seems unlikely at this stage.

Sancho’s salary is also a big issue

As supporters have pointed out, if Chelsea can’t afford the forward’s wages, how can West Ham? He is said to be earning £250,000 a week at Man United, which is £100,000 a week more than the Irons’ joint highest earners Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta.

The numbers don’t really add up. Unless Sancho becomes available on loan again, this deal seems unlikely to happen.
