West Ham are lining up a bid for Sheffield United left-back Harrison Burrows, according to reports.

Writing on his Patreon, The Sun reporter Alan Nixon said the Hammers are “keen” on bringing the 24-year-old to the London Stadium.

Burrows has been with the Blades for two seasons, having joined from League One side Peterborough in the summer of 2024.

Last campaign, the defender played 45 games and made 9 goal contributions (5 goals and 4 assists).

Why is Burrows a transfer target?

There is some uncertainty over the future of El Hadji Malick Diouf, who is expected to have top-division clubs pursuing his signature.

Manchester United were linked with the Senegalese international at the end of last season, but it is not clear whether they still see him as a priority.

The Red Devils have targeted two of Diouf’s teammates. They failed in an attempt to secure the services of Mateus Fernandes (who has subsequently joined Tottenham), and they have held talks about signing Crysencio Summerville.

It would not be a surprise if Diouf’s name has been mentioned too, and Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are likely to be eyeing a move for Burrows as a contingency plan if the left-back leaves the Irons.

West Ham are busy in the transfer market

Burrows is by no means the only player who has been linked with a switch to the London club in recent days. Leicester City’s Abdul Fatawu, Troyes’ Martin Adeline and Metz’s Alpha Toure are just some of the players who are reportedly targets for new Director of Player Recruitment Nils Koppen.

The Hammers officially announced on Saturday that the Dutchman will move from FC Copenhagen once his work permit has been approved.
