West Ham are interested in signing Georgiy Sudakov from Shakhtar Donetsk this summer, according to reports.
GiveMeSport claim that the Hammers have “made contact” ahead of a potential transfer at the end of the season.
The majority of fans on X are excited by the prospect of Sudakov making the switch to the London Stadium but there are those who are sceptical about the club’s ability to afford such a player:

West Ham may need to break their transfer record
The most that the Irons have paid for a player is the £51m (including add-ons) they shelled out on Lucas Paqueta back in 2022.
GiveMeSport report that Shakhtar Donetsk are currently demanding around €65m (£54m) for Sudakov so you can understand why supporters would question the club’s chances of securing the playmaker’s services.
Sudakov has attracted interest from other Premier League teams
West Ham are by no means the only English club who have been linked with the Ukrainian international. Manchester City are known to be keen admirers, while the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have scouted the midfielder.
Up until now, though, no one has bit the bullet and tabled a substantial bid for Sudakov. Porto came closest to agreeing a deal in January for the 22-year-old but you would think that, if Graham Potter’s side do make a concerted effort to sign him over the coming months, he would be more tempted to make the switch to the Premier League.
