West Ham Target £22.5M Leicester Ace, Alongside Chelsea And Arsenal Stars, As They Seek Paqueta Replacement

West Ham have made a decision to offload attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta, according to reports.

The Brazilian international is expected to be cleared of any wrongdoing by the FA after a two-year investigation into spot-fixing.

However, GiveMeSport claim that the Hammers are willing to listen to offers for Paqueta, with head coach Graham Potter keen to overhaul his midfield.

Former club Flamengo and Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli are currently the 27-year-old’s two main suitors, but it remains to be seen if other clubs will get involved.

Paqueta is not the only midfielder up for sale, with both Guido Rodriguez and Edson Alvarez also available if high enough bids are received.

It could be 3 out and 3 in at West Ham

With the futures of Paqueta, Rodriguez and Alvarez all in doubt, it seems Potter and head of recruitment Kyle Macaulay have already identified who they want to replace them with.

GiveMeSport believe that Leicester’s Bilal El Khannouss is the man they want to succeed Paqueta. The Irons have previously been linked with the Moroccan, who reportedly has a £22.5m release clause in his contract.

The other two names under consideration to strengthen the midfield are Chelsea’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Arsenal’s Fabio Vieira.

A move for Dewsbury-Hall has been complicated by the fact that the 26-year-old won’t be available on loan. The Blues want to recoup the £30m they paid for him last summer.

It is believed a deal for Vieira would be more straightforward. The Portuguese international spent the whole of last season out on loan at Porto, and he does not have a future at the Emirates. Based on recent reports, it doesn’t appear there will be much competition for his services either.
