West Ham are hoping to bring in a new No.1 goalkeeper on loan with a purchase clause, according to insider ExWHUEmployee.
Speaking on The West Ham Way Patreon (quotes via their website), Ex named the 3 keepers that the Hammers could potentially target this summer:
“We are being strongly linked to [Robert] Sanchez, [Djordje] Petrovic and [Aaron] Ramsdale, with the club looking at bringing in a new goalkeeper. At this stage, a loan arrangement would make more sense for the club, with then the possibility of an option to buy included in any deal made.”
The comments were greeted by a mixed reaction from supporters on X, with most not enamoured by the options being looked at:

West Ham need a new number one
The departure of Lukasz Fabianski on a free transfer and Alphonse Areola’s poor form means that recruiting a goalkeeper is close to the top of the club’s list of priorities.
However, it appears that limited funds will, once again, hamper the efforts of recruitment chief Kyle Macaulay to secure the right signing. It remains to be seen if Chelsea would loan out either Sanchez or Petrovic, but you can’t see Southampton being willing to accept such a proposal. The Saints paid £20m to sign him from Arsenal last year and they are looking to recoup their investment following their relegation.
Potter may favour Sanchez
Graham Potter has managed one of the three before. Robert Sanchez was his No. 1 at Brighton and there are reports suggesting he would be keen on working with him again.
However, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has spoken out this week to claim that the Spanish international remains his first choice. Out of the two keepers on the table, Petrovic seems like the most realistic option.
