West Ham have “no intention of selling” Crysencio Summerville if they manage to avoid relegation, according to reports.
TEAMtalk claim that there would be pressure to offload the Dutchman, but only if they do drop down to the Championship.
In that scenario, the Hammers would demand between £25m and £35m for Summerville, which means they are looking to (at the very least) get their money back on the player.
The winger arrived from Leeds for a fee in excess of £25m at the start of last season.
Nuno has lavished praise on Summerville
The 24-year-old really struggled with form and fitness during his first 18 months at the London Stadium, but a run of 7 goals in his last 11 matches has transformed perceptions of the player.
Speaking about Summerville after he scored an extra-time winner in the FA Cup against Burton Albion back in February, head coach Nuno Espirito Santo said:
“He’s doing a good job. He’s in a good moment. Forward players need this confidence, and he has that one-v-one [ability]. When he can use it in [these kinds of] spaces, he’s almost unstoppable.”
The West Ham forward won’t be short of suitors
TEAMtalk report that Tottenham (who are in relegation trouble themselves) are among five Premier League clubs keeping close tabs on Summerville’s situation.
Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brentford, and Everton are also said to be monitoring the forward, while teams in Germany, as well as France, Italy and Spain, are in the mix too.
For now, the Irons are keen on keeping hold of Summerville. While he is currently sidelined with a calf problem, there is optimism that he will return to play a crucial role as Nuno’s men seek to get out of dropzone over the next two months.
