West Ham are seeking a new number nine and some supporters have been discussing whether the club could make a move for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.

Writing on his X account earlier this week, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the Senegalese international could leave Stamford Bridge this summer and he has interest from Premier League teams.

When fans on X were asked whether the Hammers should try and sign Jackson, most questioned whether such a transfer was realistic:

How much would Jackson cost?

It is believed that Chelsea want between €55m-60m (£47.6m-£52m) for the Senegalese international, which is an asking price that West Ham would find difficult to match.

They have raised the best part of £55m from the sale of Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham but that money is expected to be used on more than one player.

The Irons have been in negotiations to purchase El-Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague, while they also want a goalkeeper, a central midfielder and a left winger in addition to a centre-forward.

Are West Ham looking at any other strikers?

Things have gone quiet on the striker front in recent weeks. West Ham did not want to sign Jhon Duran on loan due to the costs involved, while Juventus won the battle for Jonathan David.

Reports in Italy have mentioned Sassuolo’s Andrea Pinamonti as a potential transfer target in recent days but he would not be much of an upgrade on Niclas Fullkrug.
