West Ham have been told the conditions for signing Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on loan, according to reports.
The Times journalist Gary Jacobs says the Blues have received an enquiry from the Hammers, but they have responded by saying they want a loan fee and the player’s salary paid “in full.”
Disasi reportedly earns £40,000 a week, so agreeing to those terms is unlikely to be an issue for Graham Potter‘s side.
They are very keen on recruiting a replacement for Nayef Aguerd, who was sold to Marseille for £19.9m.
Will there be competition for Disasi?
The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa and there are suggestions that the Midlands club are considering taking him back for a second spell.
Bournemouth have also held talks about signing Disasi, but it is believed that no agreement could be reached with Chelsea.
A return to former club Monaco has been raised as a possibility as well, but there have been conflicting reports on whether the Ligue One side are actually interested in re-signing the centre-back.
Are West Ham looking at any alternatives?
A swoop for Brighton’s Igor Julio was explored, but the Brazilian is now expected to join rivals Crystal Palace instead. Toulouse’s Charlie Cresswell is also a target, along with Southampton’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis.
However, with the transfer deadline just hours away, getting permanent deals over the line in time is fraught with difficulty, with loans seemingly a safer bet.
Disasi is not part of Chelsea’s plans so the Blues will be doing all they can to help facilitate his departure from Stamford Bridge. It is now up to West Ham to decide whether they will accept the terms or if they will move on to another target.
