West Ham are weighing up a move for Fulham winger Adama Traore, according to reports.
New Hammers boss Nuno Espirito Santo worked with the pacey Spaniard during his time at Wolves, and he could be reunited with his former player during the January transfer window.
Traore has only made one start in the Premier League and his contract will expire at the end of the season.
TEAMtalk report that the Cottagers will consider letting the forward go in the New Year, with West Ham “in the mix” to secure his signature.
Traore has won plenty of admirers over the years
Despite often being criticised for his lack of end product, the 29-year-old’s speed and strength have been remarked on by several opposition managers.
Speaking after Liverpool won 2-1 against Wolves in January 2020, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for Traore:
“Traore is unplayable in moments, it’s unbelievable. What a player – it’s not only him but he’s so good.”
At the time, Traore was valued in the £70m+ range, but due to his contract situation, he could well be available for a knockdown price in January.
West Ham need more goals
The Irons have only scored 6 times in 7 Premier League matches, and 3 of those came in one game against Nottingham Forest – the club’s only win this campaign.
Traore would certainly add a threat in the final third, although he has never been that prolific in front of goal.
Nuno will be keen to add a striker as well. There are reports suggesting that a move for Real Madrid’s Endrick could be on the cards. The Brazilian has had limited game time since the start of the season and he could be allowed to leave on loan in the New Year.
