West Ham are still hoping to secure the services of Fulham winger Adama Traore, despite wrapping up a move for Kieber Lamadrid, according to reports.

It is believed that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are set to sign Lamadrid on loan from Venezuelan side Deportivo La Guaira, with an option to buy for £870,000.

However, Hammers News claims that a deal for Traore is also “edging closer”, as the London club look to strengthen both flanks.

While Lamadrid will provide competition for Crysensio Summerville on the left, Traore would be brought in to strengthen the right wing.

What is holding up the Traore move?

The Spanish international has less than six months left on his contract, and as things stand, he will leave Fulham on a free transfer next summer.

However, the Cottagers are demanding £7m from clubs looking to sign Traore this month, and that is not a figure which is acceptable to West Ham.

It is believed the Irons are hoping that the asking price will drop the closer we get to the transfer window closing at the end of January.

Are West Ham interested in signing anyone else?

The Hammers have been credited with an interest in another striker, Lille’s Matias Fernandez Pardo, but with Callum Wilson now expected to stay at the London Stadium until the end of the season, that move seems very unlikely, especially after the arrivals of Taty Castellanos and Pablo.

At the moment, the main priority has to be a new centre-back, although it appears Nuno is also hoping for a new goalkeeper. Lucas Paqueta’s situation will have to be resolved as well. The Brazilian was not in the matchday squad for the 2-1 win over Tottenham at the weekend as he tries to force through a departure to Flamengo. If that transfer goes ahead, a replacement will need to be found.
