West Ham sit 19th in the Premier League table at the October international break.
The defeat to Arsenal means that Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side have picked up just 4 points from 7 games so far, having scored 6 and conceded 16.
Nuno’s appointment has boosted confidence that the Hammers can avoid relegation this season, but many supporters on X feel that new signings will be needed when the transfer window reopens in the New Year:
Believe in Nuno. But it's going to be tough. 15th

Will be very close. If we continue to play Fullkrug every game then we are definitely gone

Next few weeks will tell. At the moment I think we might just scrape through. The problem is that Nuno can only work with what he has. May as well give the youth a go.

Who are the bookies’ favourites to be relegated?
Burnley are currently odds-on to go down. The Clarets are ahead of West Ham on goal difference in 18th place at the moment.
Wolves are priced at odds-on too, with Vitor Pereira’s team sitting rock bottom after picking up just 2 points so far. Sunderland are actually still deemed as likelier to be relegated than West Ham at some bookmakers but the odds between the two teams are pretty similar.
West Ham’s next 5 fixtures
The Irons have some big games coming up. Nuno’s men host Brentford at the London Stadium in their next match before travelling to Elland Road to face Leeds United.
There are then back-to-back home games against Newcastle and fellow strugglers Burnley before the next break for internationals. On their return to club action in late November, West Ham take on Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
