“He’s Been Spectacular” – Dwight Yorke Says West Ham Target Has Made Just As Big An Impact As Cole Palmer This Season

Ex-Aston Villa striker Dwight Yorke claims that West Ham transfer target Jhon Duran should be getting the “same level of plaudits” as Chelsea’s Cole Palmer for his performances this season.

Speaking to SafestCasinoSites.co.uk, Yorke said that the Colombian has impressed him with his form in front of goal:

“[Cole] Palmer has been terrific, but I also want to give a nod to Jhon Duran at Aston Villa. I think he’s been spectacular this season. If you’re talking about impact, if you’re talking about important goals, then he’s been just as good as Cole Palmer and should be getting the same level of plaudits in my opinion.”

Duran has averaged a goal every 69 minutes in all competitions this campaign, scoring 8 times in 15 appearances so far.

West Ham are still tracking Duran

Reports suggest that the 20-year-old remains on the club’s radar despite failing to secure his signature during the summer transfer window.

However, Duran’s form, interest from other clubs and the fact that the player signed a new six-year contract last month, means that his asking price has skyrocketed.

It has been claimed that Arsenal and Chelsea are also pursuing the Colombian international, along with the Hammers, and Villa could now demand as much as £75m for the striker.

A new No.9 could be signed in January

If West Ham are priced out of a move for Duran, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the Irons won’t buy a new forward.

The club need a more prolific No,9, especially if Niclas Fullkrug remains on the sidelines with injury. Corinthians’ Yuri Alberto and Botafogo’s Igor Jesus have both been mentioned as potential targets in recent days.

Of course, unlike Duran, they have not played in the Premier League before and they would undoubtedly be much riskier purchases than the Villa star but, ultimately, finances will dictate who will be pursued.
