Ex-West Ham manager Harry Redknapp does not expect his former club to come away with any points from St James’ Park on Monday night.

Speaking to football betting site BetVictor, Redknapp said that the Magpies will be in confident mood after winning against Arsenal in their last home match:

“West Ham always feel like they’re one bad game away from a crisis! It’s not been a great start to the season, and they sit quite far off the top six, but things can change quickly in football. Julen Lopetegui needs a good result on the road though, it’s just not been good enough in that regard.”

“There’s a real feel-good feeling around Newcastle again, I think that win over Arsenal kickstarted their season. There’s just too much attacking quality here for West Ham to deal with.”

What score has Redknapp predicted?

The former Hammers boss has gone with a 2-0 win to Newcastle, which will not please the away support travelling to the North East.

As Redknapp mentions, Julen Lopetegui is already on shaky ground after recent results so another defeat would put even more pressure on the Spaniard.

Lopetegui will be able to welcome back Edson Alvarez. The Mexican international served his one-match suspension against Everton following his sending-off versus Nottingham Forest.

Mohammed Kudus is still unavailable. The forward will serve the fourth game of his five-match ban against the Magpies. He is set to return to action versus Leicester City next month.

Niclas Fullkrug remains on a treatment table with an Achilles problem. He has not played for the club since August after sustaining the injury whilst on international duty with Germany.

There are some reports suggesting that the striker could make his comeback against Arsenal next week but that is not set in stone.
