Alan Shearer Makes Exciting Prediction About “Phenomenal Talent” Who West Ham Signed In January Ahead Of PL Rivals

Premier League legend Alan Shearer says that he has no doubt that Evan Ferguson can “kick on” and realise his potential during his loan spell at West Ham.

The BBC pundit has labelled the Republic of Ireland international a “phenomenal talent” and he firmly believes that, if the striker remains free of injury, he can show off his ability in Claret and Blue:

“Without doubt, he can kick on We’ve seen what he can do. What he has to do now, he has to take it into the season and do it on a regular basis.”

“I don’t know what’s gone on at Brighton, whether the manager [Fabian Hurzeler] didn’t fancy him. All I know is I’ve seen a phenomenal talent there. I’ve seen the stature of him, his movement, seen what he’s like in front of goal.”

“I’m hoping for his sake he can have a really big season because I loved what I saw, the raw enthusiasm, the raw ability. It was disappointing whatever it was, injuries or whatever, that he couldn’t kick on. I’m hoping that this is now the season for him.”

West Ham saw off fierce competition to secure the forward’s services

Ferguson was linked with several other Premier League clubs during the January transfer window, including Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and Bournemouth.

However, it is believed that head coach Graham Potter played an influential role in him joining the Hammers. The 49-year-old handed the Irishman his senior debut during his time as Brighton boss.

Ferguson will be putting himself in the shop window

It should be pointed out that West Ham don’t have an option to buy in their loan deal for the striker, and that could prove to be an issue if he performs well at the London Stadium.

Brighton would be well within their rights to jack up his asking price and open the door to offers from other clubs if they want to sell Ferguson this summer.
