West Ham Re-Sign 42 Year Old Ex Player To Help Save Them From Relegation Once Again

West Ham have snapped up Carlos Tevez on a free transfer until the end of the season.

The former Argentinian international was the man credited with saving the Hammers from relegation in 2007.

Tevez scored 7 goals in 10 games, helping his team secure seven wins to ensure that the London club retained their top-flight status.

Alan Curbishley’s side actually finished in 15th place, three points above the drop zone.

Isn’t Tevez a bit old to be playing Premier League football?

The striker is now 42 years of age, and he was actually managing a club, Talleres, but he has decided to put his boots on for one final time.

He may only be able to play a few minutes in each match because his fitness is not what it used to be, but head coach Nuno Espirito Santo firmly believes that Tevez’s presence on the pitch will be more than enough to inspire his team to save themselves from relegation.

More veteran West Ham players could return

Tevez may not be the only ex-Hammer who could make a dramatic comeback. There are even rumours that sporting director Mark Noble, ex-defenders James Collins and Craig Dawson may be willing to sign short-term contracts.

Of course, there is the small matter of registering these players with the Premier League, but chairman David Sullivan and vice-chair Karren Brady believe they hold enough sway to get the rest of the clubs on side.

There is a feeling that opposing clubs are very willing for the Irons to field a bunch of 40-year-olds for the remaining few fixtures. Fans could see some of their favourite stars pull on the claret and blue for one last time to help them get out of trouble.

As you may have gathered, this is an April Fool’s story. Have a good day and don’t believe everything you read online!
