West Ham right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka produced an outstanding performance to help the Hammers secure an important three points against Newcastle.
The summer signing from Manchester United was excellent defensively but he also got on the scoresheet during the 2-0 win at St James’ Park.
Supporters on X were quick to praise Wan-Bissaka following the final whistle on Monday evening:
Never doubted him

Wan-Bissaka has been one of the few success stories of the summer transfer window
Many pundits praised the business that the Hammers did in the summer but, so far, most of the club’s signings have flattered to deceive.
While Wan-Bissaka’s displays have not been perfect, it could be argued that he has been the best of a bad bunch so far.
If he continues to produce the sort of form he showed against Newcastle, though, many will feel that the £15m invested to bring him to the club will end up being money well spent.
A big challenge awaits West Ham this weekend
It is a massive week for the club. Following the match versus the Magpies, they will take on Arsenal at the London Stadium on Saturday evening.
After struggling at home against the likes of Aston Villa, Manchester City and Chelsea already this campaign, fans will be hoping for a better performance when they face the Gunners. They will have to do it without head coach Julen Lopetegui, though, who has been handed a touchline ban for the game.
