West Ham have sounded out Coventry City boss Frank Lampard as a potential replacement for Graham Potter, according to reports.
After losing 3 of the first 4 games in all competitions, Potter’s position as head coach is precarious.
However, supporters on X have been pretty dismissive of this rumour, with some suggesting that appointing Lampard would be a terrible decision:
Don’t believe that for a second

Dont think he would be any improvement, feels like being championship manager is his ceeling at the moment.

Lampard has rebuilt his reputation at Coventry
The 47-year-old’s last spell in charge of a Premier League club ended in disaster. He was hired by Chelsea for a second stint on a temporary basis, but he lost 8 of his 11 games.
Lampard then dropped down to the Championship, and he has found more success with Coventry, who he led to playoff semi-finals last season.
This campaign, his team currently sit 5th in the table, having won 2 and drawn 2 of their first 4 games.
West Ham are not looking to sack Potter
One of the reasons why a change in manager is so unlikely is due to the club’s decision to sign players this summer based on the recommendation of Potter and his head of recruitment, Kyle Macaulay.
If they are already looking to replace their head coach, why would the Irons have devoted so much time and energy to bring in these new signings?
