Ex-Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic is interested in managing a Premier League club following links to the West Ham job, according to the Daily Mail.
The German, who guided Dortmund to the Champions League final last season, is currently without a club, having left Signal Iduna Park after the defeat to Real Madrid.
Terzic also has a prior association with the Hammers, having been Slaven Bilic’s assistant for two years between 2015 and 2017.
Due to the fact that Julen Lopetegui remains under pressure following a difficult start to the season, Terzic’s name has been mentioned more than once in relation to West Ham over the past few weeks.
Terzic has already lost out on another Premier League job
The 42-year-old was also tentatively linked with Manchester United, having been suggested as one of several names that the Red Devils were considering as potential replacements for Erik ten Hag.
However, it was announced on Friday afternoon that Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim will be taking the position as of next month, leaving Terzic still searching for his next appointment.
Does Terzic’s record make him a good candidate for West Ham?
As well as reaching the Champions League final, Terzic won the German Super Cup and Deutsche Pokal during his first stint with Dortmund.
That would suggest he is very capable of setting up his teams for knockout football, but his league record is not quite as impressive.
Terzic did nearly guide Dortmund to a league title in 2023, only to lose out to Bayern Munich on the final day after drawing against Mainz. In his other two seasons, though, he guided his team to 3rd and 5th place finishes. Across his two spells, he had a 59.3% win ratio in the Bundesliga.
