West Ham Triple Injury Boost Soured By Claims That £25M Signing May Not Return To Action Before April

West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville is set to be out for another two months, according to reports.

The £25m summer signing from Leeds has been sidelined with a hamstring problem and writing on the West Ham Way Patreon (quotes via their website), ExWHUEmployee said the Dutchman has suffered a major setback in his recovery:

“West Ham have confirmed to us that Summerville has a serious hamstring injury that could keep him out for two months. We understand he suffered a new hamstring injury this week.”

Summerville has not featured in the Hammers’ last four games against Fulham, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Chelsea. He now looks set to be on the treatment table until early April.

How many matches could the West Ham forward miss?

Based on the estimated timeframe given by Ex,  Summerville could be unavailable for the next six Premier League fixtures at the very least.

The 23-year-old won’t play against Brentford this weekend and the subsequent games versus Arsenal, Leicester City, Newcastle, Everton and Wolves. The only saving grace is that there is an international break during that period which will stop him from missing even more football.

There is good news for Potter on the injury front

While Summerville’s setback will be a big disappointment for head coach Graham Potter, it is believed that three players will return to the matchday squad for the clash against Brentford.

Edson Alvarez (muscular) and Lucas Paqueta (groin) both missed the trip to Stamford Bridge but they are expected to be available this weekend.

Jean-Clair Todibo, meanwhile, has been out of contention for a lot longer due to an ankle problem. The centre-back last played against Manchester City in the 4-1 defeat at the start of last month. However, he is now set to play under Potter for the first time.
