West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville is expected to be out for more than one game with the calf issue he sustained against Brentford in the FA Cup.
Writing on his X account, The Guardian reporter Jacob Steinberg said that, while the injury is relatively minor, the Dutchman could miss several fixtures:
“Scan shows Crysencio Summerville has a minor calf injury. West Ham confident it’s not too serious, but looks like the winger will miss some games.”
The 24-year-old has been a vital player in the club’s revival over the last two months, having scored 7 goals in his last 11 appearances. Buy a Summerville West Ham kit from UK Soccer Shop here.
When could Summerville return to action?
Considering that there are only just over two weeks before the next international break, it is unlikely that the forward will be back in contention before then.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side take on Manchester City at the London Stadium this weekend before facing Aston Villa eight days later on March 22nd.
The FA Cup quarter-final against Leeds United at the beginning of April seems like the most realistic date for Summerville‘s return at the moment.

Adama Traore and Ollie Scarles missed the Brentford game with injuries. Both were deemed to be minor knocks, so there is a decent chance that they will be back in the matchday squad to face City on Saturday night.
Lukasz Fabianski remains a long-term absentee. The 40-year-old has not played since September due to a back problem, but speaking late last month, he did confirm that he was 80% to 90% of his way through his rehabilitation.
