West Ham are “heavily interested” in signing Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun, according to Get Italian Football News.
The website claims that the American is being eyed as a potential replacement for Gianluca Scamacca, who could be allowed to leave the London Stadium after just one season.
Balogun has been out on loan at Stade de Reims this campaign and he has been in excellent form, racking up 21 goals in all competitions for the Ligue One side.
When he returns to London in the coming weeks, though, he is expected to press for a permanent move away from the Gunners.
A number of teams in other countries, including AC Milan and RB Leipzig, have been credited with an interest in Balogun so West Ham would have to battle to secure his signature.
How much would Balogun cost West Ham?
Reports in Italy have suggested that Arsenal may accept a fee in the region of €30m (£26m) for the striker, although that fee does seem to be on the low side.
If approaches are received from a number of different clubs, the Gunners could decide to hold out for £30m to £35m; a similar figure to what Scamacca cost West Ham last year.
