Roma could sell West Ham target Tammy Abraham for only £20m, according to The Telegraph.
The Giallorossi are under pressure to balance the books due to Financial Fair Play and they could be prepared to offload the former Chelsea player for a bargain price.
Abraham has been linked with a move to the Hammers in recent weeks, but it is believed that other Premier League teams are interested in the forward.
The Telegraph claim that Aston Villa and Tottenham may also enter the race for the England international due to his availability for a modest fee.
West Ham do need to strengthen their options upfront
While the Irons have already recruited Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras, there is still a lack of depth in terms of out-and-out forwards.
Danny Ings is expected to be sold if a satisfactory offer is tabled this summer while, even if Michail Antonio does stay, the 34-year-old is unlikely to be a regular starter under Julen Lopetegui next season.
Abraham would be among the cheapest targets
West Ham are also reportedly interested in the likes of Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy, Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesryi and Brentford’s Ivan Toney.
However, a move for Toney, in particular, could be scuppered due to his sky-high valuation. It has been claimed that Brentford are still holding out for £60m, despite the fact that the England international only has a year left on his contract.
Abraham could potentially be available for a 1/3 of the price. Of course, there are significant caveats in pursuing the 26-year-old. He has only recently recovered from a serious knee injury so there is no guarantee that he can recapture the sort of form that led to him scoring 27 goals during his first season at Roma. It would be a calculated gamble if West Ham do choose to go ahead and make an offer.
