Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson is “open” to joining West Ham, according to insider ExWHUEmployee.

Speaking on the West Ham Way Patreon (quotes via their website), Ex said that the 24-year-old has warmed to the idea of the move, and discussions over a transfer are likely to ramp up this week:

“We are becoming more keen on the signing of Reiss Nelson of Arsenal. Reiss is also homegrown, with more Premier League experience and also another player from a rival.”

“He is only 24 so again has a lot of potential to develop too. We had made moves for the player before and he wasn’t as keen at the time but now it is thought he is more open to the move. Arsenal are also said to be happy to cash in so there may be some progress in this deal this week.”

How much will Nelson cost?

Trusted journalist David Ornstein has already confirmed the forward’s asking price. The Gunners will sell the player if they receive a fee of £20m (including add-ons).

However, Ornstein has also mentioned that West Ham are not the only Premier League club interested in Nelson. Crystal Palace, Fulham and Nottingham Forest are keen as well.

West Ham have looked at plenty of left-wingers

The Irons are believed to have made an enquiry for Juventus’s Matias Soule earlier in the summer, but the player’s €40m (£34m) price tag was said to be too high.

Leeds’ Crysencio Summerville, Barcelona’s Ferran Torres, Fluminense’s Jhon Arias and Vitoria Guimaraes’ Jota Silva are other names who have been linked with a switch to the London Stadium.

From the sound of things, though, the club have settled on Nelson as their top target, with factors such as his age, nationality, wages and price all having influenced the decision to go after him.
