West Ham are weighing up a potential move for Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The journalist posted on X that the Hammers still retain an interest in Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran but the gap in valuation between the two clubs makes the deal difficult.
Sheth says an offer for Fullkrug could now be explored but supporters are very much split down the middle on whether the forward would be a good addition to the squad:
I know the age could be an issue but I think he is an absolutely top striker

Fullkrug’s scoring record is impressive
The German international scored 15 goals and provided 10 assists for Dortmund last season, and his record at international level is excellent too.
In just 21 caps for the national side, Fullkrug has hit the back of the net 13 times, including two goals at the European Championships last month.
He would be a short-term fix for West Ham
Fullkrug is already 31 years of age so you would only be bringing him in to make an impact over the next two to three seasons at the very most.
Duran, in contrast, is by no means the finished article but he has plenty of room to develop, considering he is still only 20. A lot will depend on whether the board are prepared to push the boat out for the Colombian or if the cheaper option is preferred instead.
