West Ham are likely to sell at least one centre-back before the transfer window closes later this month.
It was reported earlier this week that Konstantinos Mavropanos could be offloaded. The inability to find a buyer for Nayef Aguerd is likely to have influenced the decision.
Mavropanos has only been at the club a year, having moved from Stuttgart last August, and fans on X have been debating whether the Greek international should be let go instead of Aguerd. Some believe that both could be dispensed with:
If we can get 1-2 younger options, sell both. Would prefer to sell Aguerd at this point.

Mavropanos had an erratic first season at the London Stadium
It’s fair to say that the 26-year-old had his good and bad moments. The highlight was undoubtedly his goal against his former club Arsenal.
However, Mavropanos has also been prone to making errors, and there is a feeling that there are better options available on the transfer market.
Who will West Ham sign to replace the pair?
Reports in Italy suggest a move for Nantes defender Nathan Zeze could be on the cards, but the teenager’s price tag is said to be as high as £26m.
An alternative, Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah, may cost just as much but the 25-year-old does have a great deal more experience at the highest level.
