‘Can’t See Us Paying That Kind Of Money’ ‘He Ain’t All That’ Fans React As West Ham Begin Talks Over £25M Deal

West Ham are holding discussions with Palmeiras about signing Luis Guilherme, according to The Guardian.

The 18-year-old could cost as much as £25m despite the fact that the winger has scored just 1 goal and contributed 1 assist in 44 senior appearances for his club.

Fans on X are sceptical about Guilherme’s price tag and the majority feel that he is not worth the outlay:

Guilherme is a player in demand

West Ham are not the only English club who have been linked with the Brazilian Under 20 international over the past year or so.

Liverpool and Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in Guilherme, although neither are said to have held formal talks with Palmeiras about signing him.

Do West Ham need another right winger?

As some supporters have mentioned, he does play in similar positions to Mohammed Kudus, having played right across the front three and as an attacking midfielder.

However, the fact that Guilherme is left-footed means that his best role would probably be cutting in off the right flank.

Considering the Hammers already have Jarrod Bowen (and Kudus) who can play on that side of the pitch, spending £25m on a young player who would be fighting for the same spot in the team seems rather odd.
