West Ham are competing with Wolves to snap up former Manchester City and Leicester striker Kelechi Iheanacho on a free transfer, according to GiveMeSport.
The Nigerian international left the Foxes at the end of last month when his contract expired, and the Hammers are eyeing him as a potential option to reinforce their frontline.
It’s fair to say that supporters on X are less than enthusiastic about the prospect of Iheanacho making the switch to the London Stadium:
Boring, next

I wanted him when he went to Leicester. But he's not exactly set the world on fire.
We need a first choice Striker, he is not that, but would be a reasonable squad addition.

steer clear of this one.

What has happened to El Nesri ..he was JLs number one striker target …if we sign him PLUS Iheanacho then fine but if it's just Iheanacho that's not great !!

Iheanacho could replace Ings
Some fans are assuming that the 27-year-old is being targeted as the club’s main striker signing but that is unlikely to be the case.
The Irons are also trying to offload Danny Ings, who has been linked with a return to Southampton, and bringing Iheanacho as his replacement would be a sensible move.
West Ham are targeting a whole host of other strikers
Technical director Tim Steidten seems to be looking at a huge list of forwards as the club seek a new first-choice No.9. Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, Lille’s Jonathan David, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesryi are just some of the names that have been linked in recent weeks.
Over the past few days, it has also been reported in the Spanish press that the Hammers tabled a £30m bid for Girona’s Artem Dovbyk. You can find out more about that story here.
