West Ham are poised to snap up Vitoria Guimaraes winger Jota Silva, according to journalist Sebastiao Sousa Pinto.
The Portuguese forward has a €20m (£17m) release clause in his contract and, posting on X, Pinto said that the Hammers are “close to” securing his signature after paying the necessary fee:
⚒️🚨EXCLUSIVE: @WestHam is close to sign Jota Silva from @VitoriaSC1922 for 20 million euros, relating to his release clause.
🇵🇹 Deal is well underway, and Jota prepares himself to leave VSC, after an incredible season. 15 goals and 7 assists in all competitions.

Pinto does, though, point out that a deal is subject to personal terms being agreed so there is still a chance that the move won’t go ahead, but all the signs suggest that this will be finalised.
This is not the first time Jota has been linked with West Ham
The Irons were first credited with an interest in the 24-year-old back in April when it was reported that they were scouting the player.
At the time, it was claimed that Premier League rivals Brighton and Fulham were also keeping tabs on Jota. However, it does appear as if West Ham have moved ahead in the race to secure his services.
What do fans need to know about the Portuguese player?
Jota is a late bloomer, having only really established himself after a move to Casa Pia at the start of 2021. Following his switch to Vitoria eighteen months later, the winger has looked rather impressive.
His form this campaign has been particularly good, having scored 15 goals and provided 7 assists in 42 appearances.
Jota was even given his first two caps for Portugal’s senior side in friendlies against Sweden and Slovenia back in March. Now, it seems he could be on the way to the London Stadium.
